The Delgallo Company is named in memory of my maternal grandmother, Helen Evelyn DelGallo-Petrella.

Helen Evelyn DelGallo-Petrella was born on May 17, 1918 in Mingo Junction, Ohio. Her father, Angelo DelGallo, and mother, Ascenzia DiGiannantonio-DelGallo, were born in the town of Raiano in the province of L’Aquila, Italy. They emigrated to the United States and settled in Mingo Junction, Ohio, where Angelo worked in a nearby Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel mill. Helen was a remarkable yet humble woman, full of hospitality and love to share with her three children and eight grandchildren. She reached the age of 100 and I am thankful that I got to be with her for the first fifty years of my life. I have been told that I most closely resemble my relations on the Del Gallo side of the family.

“DelGallo” literally means “of the rooster” in Italian. While it is often spelled “DelGallo” or even “Del Gallo”, The “Delgallo” in “The Delgallo Company” will be spelled as single word with a single capital letter.
